Owner Recommendation

Lab-Friendly 120

XP2 SUPER in 120 format combines the convenience of C-41 processing with the image quality of medium format, and the result is one of the most practical black-and-white films available for the traveling medium format photographer. The fine grain and smooth tonality of XP2 are further enhanced by the larger negative, producing images with a clarity and depth that rival traditional B&W films while being vastly easier to process on the road. Drop your exposed rolls at any minilab anywhere in the world, pick up developed negatives a few hours later, and spend your evening scanning rather than developing — for travel photographers, this workflow is transformative. The wide exposure latitude is particularly valuable on medium format, where you may only have twelve frames per roll and cannot afford to lose any to metering errors. We also appreciate the ability to use Digital ICE dust removal when scanning XP2 120, as medium format negatives are dust magnets and spotting a 6×7 scan manually is nobody's idea of a good time. For photographers who love the medium format look but want the simplest possible path from exposure to digital file, XP2 SUPER in 120 is the smart choice.
